Food Intelligence For The Way We Actually Eat

Other apps start with a Western diet and add a few African dishes later. We built the database from African kitchens first.

Eba with vegetable soup, jollof rice with grilled skewers, and pounded yam with egusi soup

The Emeka Example

Emeka is 52, recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. His doctor says eat healthy and lose weight. The leaflet he gets shows foods outside his daily life. Emeka eats eba and egusi most days. His wife cooks Nigerian food every day. He feels lost, puts the leaflet down and carries on as before. Three months later his blood sugar is worse and he has gained more weight. Not non compliance. It is a failure of cultural translation. NutriAfrika is what Emeka needed.

A spread of African meals including swallows, jollof rice, stew, egusi and grilled meat

What makes it different

Built from African kitchens first

Built from real kitchens

Soups and stews by zone, staples, proteins, vegetables, fruits, snacks, drinks and everyday meals. The foods that actually appear in our households.

Portion guidance you understand

Fist sized eba, tennis ball swallow, medium bowl of soup, serving spoon of stew. Not grams only.

Healthier versions, not removal

We never say stop eating eba. We show a version that keeps texture and feel with lower impact and more fibre.

Checked for your health

Each food is reviewed for common conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol, with clear guidance. Generally suitable, suitable with adjustments, limit, or requires caution.

Built with depth

Each food has cooked nutrition, combinations, preparation impact, misconceptions, safety notes, medication flags and coaching tips. Reviewed by qualified professionals before publication. Includes UK availability.
